Quite a few OEMs confirmed their Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones are coming
Xiaomi, Motorola, OPPO, IQOO, and Red Magic all confirmed their Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 devices are coming. That being said, Xiaomi may be the first to utilize the SoC. The company’s CEO, Lei Jun, said via Weibo that Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship will be the first to utilize the chip. The company’s CEO is talking about the Xiaomi 13 series, by the way. When it comes to Motorola, the upcoming Motorola X40 flagship will utilize the chip. That will be its name in China, but globally it’ll sport a different name. Most likely the Motorola Moto Edge 40 Pro. In the case of OPPO, the OPPO Find X6 Pro is coming, and it will utilize this processor. The iQOO 11 is right around the corner, and judging by the information provided, that is the device that may feature this processor. What about Red Magic? Well, we’re presuming that the company is working on the Red Magic 8 Pro, which will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The company did not share any details about that, though, similar to most other companies on the list.
The Galaxy S23 flagship series will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 exclusively
What we also know is that Samsung will utilize this chip. In fact, we know that all Galaxy S23 series will utilize this chip. Samsung has no intention of releasing an Exynos-powered Galaxy S23, not in Europe, or anywhere else. Qualcomm’s exec confirmed this quite recently. The Galaxy S23 series will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, exclusively. Many other OEMs will utilize this chip in the next year or so, of course. That is the case with basically every Snapdragon flagship. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 got announced quite recently. It is manufactured by TSMC, and it looks great on paper.
