Earlier this year Square Enix began launching its set of remastered Final Fantasy titles. Officially titled the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection. It’s comprised of the first six mainline games in the franchise. Also later this year, the publisher plans to launch Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier. A battle royale multiplayer shooter set in the world of Final Fantasy VII. And next year at some point, it plans to launch Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. At this point, you get the gist. Final Fantasy is as popular as it’s ever been and Square Enix is capitalizing on that.
Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend releases on September 22
Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend will officially release for mobile devices and PC via Steam on September 22. It will contain Final Fantasy Legend 1-3. While Final Fantasy is in the name, it actually has no link to the Final Fantasy series in any way. During their original GameBoy releases in the West, Square added Final Fantasy to the name to market the titles better. But in actuality these are the first three SaGa games. Though Square Enix has mostly kept the games faithful to their original releases, there are some nifty new updates. For one you can change the background wallpaper that sits behind the Game UI. You can also enable high-speed mode. If you’ve played any of the mobile ports of the Final Fantasy mainline titles, you’ll probably be familiar with this. As it lets you bomb through the game much faster than normal. Additional new features include the ability to change the screen size. The collection of games includes everything that was available in the original Japanese releases. So you won’t be missing out on content. And if you’ve never played anything from the SaGa franchise, these would be a good place to start. Since they’re the origin of the franchise as a whole. Square Enix is releasing the entire collection for $20. Which isn’t a bad deal considering a single Final Fantasy port can cost around the same amount.
