The build number for the new software package suggests that the Galaxy A52s is gaining more than just vulnerability fixes with the latest update. There might be some tweaks and optimizations for improved performance. Unfortunately, Samsung has yet to update its update tracker portal for the phone to reflect the new release. So we don’t have a changelog handy to confirm the contents of this update. Don’t be hopeful of any major new feature though. With the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 just a few months away, Samsung would be keeping them all for the upcoming big update. Nonetheless, we will make sure to let you know if there’s anything notable coming to the Galaxy A52s with the October SMR.

October update brings over 60 vulnerability fixes to the Galaxy A52s

As far as vulnerability fixes are concerned, this month’s security update patches well over 60 issues found in Google’s version of Android OS as well as Samsung’s custom skin. The Korean firm has labeled at least nine of them to be of critical severity. You can find more details about the contents of the October SMR for Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets here. These privacy and security fixes have rolled out to dozens of Galaxy devices over the past three weeks. Samsung began the rollout in the last week of September with the Galaxy S21 series. It gradually expanded the rollout to other devices. And as the month progresses, you can expect more eligible devices to join the party. But if you’re a Galaxy A52s user in Europe, you can be on the lookout for the October update in the coming days. Users in other regions should also receive the new update in the coming days. As always, you’ll receive a notification about the OTA (over the air) update once it becomes available for your phone. You can also manually check for updates by navigating to Settings » Software update on your Galaxy A52s. Now tap on Download and install to check if there’s an OTA update pending download.
