Galaxy S21 phones will not get Detail Enhancer
According to the Samsung official, the company is finding it difficult to optimize Detail Enhancer for the Galaxy S21 series. The NPU (Neural Processing Unit) performance of the devices is not up to the mark. While the team behind the is working on it, there’s no guarantee it will ever arrive on the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. For the uninitiated, Detail Enhancer is a new camera feature that, well, enhances the object detail in photos. It can reduce noise for sharper images. However, the feature has been found softening objects that are farther. It even affects the image quality at night. So Galaxy S21 users missing out on Detail Enhancer may not be that big a loss. But it’s always nice to have these kinds of features in stock. So we would welcome it with open arms should Samsung roll it out to last year’s flagships. As for the integration of native camera features into social media apps such as Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok, Samsung is testing it internally, at least for Snapchat. The rollout will begin soon, though we don’t have a precise date yet. Perhaps the September security update will bring it, we shall see. Once available, this integration will allow you to capture high-quality photos from within the Snapchat app.
Samsung recently released a massive camera update for its flagships
Samsung’s Galaxy S series flagships are some of the best camera phones out there, if not the very best. And the company continues to improve them with new features and optimizations regularly. Earlier this week, the Korean behemoth released a massive camera update for the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series. It brought the ability to capture hyperlapse videos using the 3X telephoto zoom camera. The built-in QR Scanner also got some improvements. Samsung says the latter changes will also roll out to the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 phones this month. We will let you know when the rollouts begin.
