Before we dig into this watch, the company also announced the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones. These are the latest flagship phones, and they offer improvements over the Pixel 6 phones. You can learn more about these phones here.
Here are the specs for the New Pixel Watch
Some people be disappointed in the company’s choice of SoC for the Pixel Watch. It uses the Exynos 9110, which launched back in 2018. We’ll just have to wait and see how it performs with the Wear OS software. We’re looking at a 1.4-inch display with a resolution of 450 x 450.
This watch comes in these colors
The Pixel Watch comes in three colors and it has four different watch band colors. Starting off with the watch itself, it comes in Silver, Black, and Warm Gold; not the quirky names that we see with other Google products.
As for the bands, we have Charcoal, Chalk, Obsidian, and Hazel. What’s nice is that you can mix and match the watch and bands to make up to 12 different combinations.
It has an average battery capacity
The Pixel Watch is touted to last you a full day on a single charge, but that will depend on your usage. We’re looking at a battery capacity of 300mAh. To put that into perspective, the 45mm Apple Watch Series 8 has a capacity of 308mAh, and the Galaxy Watch 5 has a capacity of 284mAh. Charging this watch will definitely take a while. From 0% to full, you’re looking at about 1 hour and 50 minutes. That’s not great, but it seems that Google is prioritizing long-term battery health.
How much do these cost?
If you were expecting a cheap watch, then you’re going to be disappointed. There are two variants of this watch. The Wi-Fi-only version of the watch costs $349. If you’re looking to have a data plan with your watch, then you’re going to have to fork over $399. That’s definitely not cheap, and it puts the new Pixel Watch up there with the Apple Watches and Galaxy Watches of the world.
