After the disappearance of version numbers in the Play Store that happened a few weeks ago, this is the second time that the app has been facing such a strange problem. The issue reportedly started on August 23, and users who visit the “Recently updated” section can’t see all of the recently updated apps.

Google Play Store faces an issue with “Recently updated” apps

9to5google says the vast majority of apps are missing, and a few are shown. Also, the issue isn’t limited to certain apps and hasn’t affected all users. If you want to know if your Play Store is experiencing this problem, you can compare the recently updated apps with the “Recently scanned apps” on the Play Protect page. When you update or install an app, the Play Store Protect scans it to ensure it’s bare of any vulnerability. Moreover, the 9to5google author says he is dealing with the issue in the latest stable release (31.9.1) of the Play Store and newer versions. Google still hasn’t responded to the news. However, if the issue persists for more weeks, the company should react and at least release a fix for it. This seems more like a bug that could be fixed quickly. This is not the first time that Google Play Store is confusing users with the updated apps. November last year, some users reported that the Play Store stopped showing when an app was last updated. While such issues happen more often and are easy to fix, they can also affect users’ experience and create frustration among users. We hope Google will fix the issue as quickly as possible. Google has also recently started to test a new design for Play Store desktop version. This is a major revamp for the desktop version after several years. In the new design layout, users no longer need to navigate through categories by the left side panel because the tabs are no placed at the top. This revamped version of Play Store desktop isn’t yet available t0 everyone, but you can expect to get it in the coming months.
