Apple doesn’t say how much better the battery life is though. Just that it’ll last longer on this new version of the device. It’s also using the same durable glass of the iPhone 13 line on both the front and back. Apple says it will launch on March 18. Although, customers will be able to start pre-ordering the device this coming Friday.
The A15 Bionic chip brings loads of improvements to the iPhone SE
Aside from better gaming, the iPhone SE can now deliver more powerful and more efficient experiences across the board. Thanks to the A15 Bionic chip and its powerful 6-core CPU. Apple says it even has GPU performance that’s 2.2x faster than the iPhone 8. Making every action (including gaming) “feel fluid.” The A15 also enables faster machine learning for third party apps. Additionally, the iPhone SE will now come with features like Live Text within the camera app. Which will let you scan objects with text in the real world and do everything from copying and pasting to transporting phone numbers directly into the dialer for calls.
An all-new camera experience
As for the computational photography, the iPhone SE now comes with a 12MP wide camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens. This enables features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and the ever-popular Portrait Mode. Thanks to this new camera system, users can expect better preservation of certain elements like skin tones, proper exposure of faces in more difficult lighting, optimized textures, and improved video with reduced noise.
The iPhone SE now comes with 5G
Having a phone with 5G connectivity is a big boost to pretty much everything. Users get more reliable and faster connection to the network. Which translates to faster app and game downloads, better connectivity in online games, lower latency, and higher quality HD FaceTime calls. A new SmartData feature will also help preserve battery life when the battery is running low. So the phone will last you until you’re able to toss it on a wireless charger or plug it in. The device comes with a 4.7-inch Retina display and will be available starting at $429 for the 64GB model. Apple will also offer 128GB and 256GB models of the device. Plus all three variations will come in three colors – Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT) RED.
