The 2022 refresh has already begun with the Galaxy A13 and Galaxy A23 breaking cover a few days ago. The Korean brand is now preparing to launch the Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A73 in the coming weeks and months. All of these devices have appeared in multiple leaks and official listings over the past few months.

The Samsung Galaxy A73 appears in a leaked render

And as the wait for their official unveiling continues, the Galaxy A73 has leaked in an official press render revealing its front design. As you can see in the attached image below, this phone sports a punch-hole display. The bezels around the display appear thinner than those on the Galaxy A72, at least in the leaked render. Prior leaks suggest we are looking at a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will also get an in-display fingerprint scanner. Unfortunately, the latest leak doesn’t give us a look at the back of the Galaxy A73. So we can’t confirm the camera design — something that Samsung has been playing a lot with lately — of the upcoming phone. But a leak from early December 2021 doesn’t suggest a major overhaul from the Galaxy A72. We could still have a rectangular camera bump housing all four sensors and an LED flash unit. As far as camera specs are concerned, we have heard of them several times over the past few months. For the first time in the Galaxy A series, Samsung is reportedly offering a 108-megapixel camera on the Galaxy A73. It will be accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, an 8-megapixel zoom camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

This phone is shaping up nicely

If camera upgrades and slimmer bezels aren’t convincing enough, Samsung is also equipping the Galaxy A73 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G processor. The chipset is coupled with at least 8GB of RAM and probably 128GB of storage on the base variant. Other rumored specs include a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, OIS (optical image stabilization), and Android 12-based One UI 4.1 software. All in all, the Galaxy A73 is shaping up nicely and could be a compelling proposition for the premium mid-range segment. The device is expected to go official in April/May this year. We will keep you posted.
