New update improves battery life on the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 8T, and 9R
Just to be clear, that is the only entry in the changelog. The company says that it optimized the power consumption in “some scenarios”, and that it “improved battery life performance”. This update comes with a build number C.16 for all four smartphones. Just to be clear, those smartphones are the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 8T, and 9R. The update is rolling out gradually across the globe. Considering that it is rolling out gradually, you may have to wait for a bit before it reaches your device. It may arrive tomorrow, and it may arrive in a week or two, it all depends. OnePlus only included one entry in the changelog, but the company hopefully issued a number of additional updates under the hood. The C.15 update wasn’t exactly the most stable offering by OnePlus. The update itself is not large at all, it weighs 78MB, and it will arrive to your phone Over-The-Air (OTA). You can wait for your phone to notify you, or you can check on your own via the Settings.
You can also sideload this update, if you know what you’re doing
If you’re unwilling to wait for the update to reach your phone, you can also sideload it. Some update files are available to download, but only for Europe and India at the time of writing this article. You can navigate to the XDA Developers article to grab those links. Just be careful what you download and install. Download links clearly indicate for what region is the update, what device, and if it’s a full OTA update, or an incremental one from a specific OxygenOS version. In other words, if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing, we’d suggest you wait for the update to arrive on its own. The installation of this upgrade package is not complicated at all, though, and you can do it via the phone’s Settings once you download it. Once again, though, if you’re not familiar with the procedure, simply wait.
