The Hasselblad-free Cameras

There are three cameras on the OnePlus 10T, which are a bit different from the OnePlus 10 Pro from earlier this year. Not to mention, there’s no Hasselblad branding here. Basically, as one of the differentiators between the OnePlus 10 Pro and 10T, Hasselblad will only be on the 10 Pro. As the 10T is being positioned as a more performance-driven smartphone. In the main camera, we have a 50-megapixel sensor with a f/1.8 aperture, it is the Sony IMX 766 sensor here. The ultra-wide is a 8-megapixel sensor with a f/2.2 aperture. Then we have a 2-megapixel macro sensor here, instead of a telephoto. The OnePlus 10T can still do 2x zoom, but it’s cropping in on the main, 50-megapixel sensor here.

Incredibly fast charging

OnePlus has been known over the years, for giving us some pretty incredibly fast charging on our smartphones. And that’s no different this year with the OnePlus 10T. They are introducing 125W SUPERVOOC Endurance Edition charging. It’s 125W in the US and 150W in other countries, and that’s due to the outlets that we have in the US. According to OnePlus, the 150W SUPERVOOC charging speeds need the faster 220V outlets that are found in India and Europe. In the US, we normally have 110V or 120V. But the good news is that every OnePlus 10T comes with a 160W SUPERVOOC charger in the box. So if you head overseas to Europe or India with your US charger, you can get those faster 150W speeds. So why is OnePlus shipping 160W chargers if they max out at 150W? Well, the charger needs a higher voltage to sustain that 125W or 150W charging (depending on your region). So OnePlus went all out and provided every 10T buyer with a 160W charger.

Oxygen OS 12.1

Oxygen OS 12.1 isn’t much different from Oxygen OS 12 that debuted on the OnePlus 10 Pro earlier this year. It’s basically adding in a slew of AI features for the OnePlus 10T. So you’ll notice a better experience, but there’s not a ton of new features. Those new features are being reserved for the Oxygen OS 13 launch, later this year. OnePlus has not actually said when that launch will happen, but we do know that it’ll come to the OnePlus 10 Pro first. Then the OnePlus 10T and older devices. It’s a bit puzzling that it’s coming to the OnePlus 10 Pro first, and not the latest and greatest, 10T first.

OnePlus 10T Specs

Here are the specs for the OnePlus 10T.

Pricing & Availability

OnePlus is getting pretty competitive with the 10T, as far as pricing goes. It’ll start at $649 for the 8GB/128GB model. And the 16GB/256GB model will cost you $749. That’s $250 less than the OnePlus 10 Pro was when it launched globally in April. Speaking of the OnePlus 10 Pro, it is getting a permanent price reduction to just $799. That’s going to shave $100 off of its original price. The OnePlus 10T will go up for pre-orders on September 1 in the US. And it’ll be available starting on September 29. Interestingly, India, China and Europe will all get the device well before the US. Sales start in China today, August 3. India starts their sales on August 6 and Europe will start in mid-August.
