Additionally, Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband is also coming to users in Birmingham (Alabama). Customers in Albuquerque (New Mexico), Little Rock (Arkansas), and Nashville (Tennessee), meanwhile, are getting access to its 5G Home service. Following this expansion, according to Verizon, its 5G Ultra Wideband is now available in parts of 78 cities in the US. The 5G Home service is also now available in parts of 52 cities across the country. “We’re continuing our aggressive expansion of our 5G Ultra Wideband and 5G Home services,” said Kyle Malady, CTO at Verizon. “Customers in these six cities join a growing list who can now take advantage of game-changing technology that will power the future of wireless and home broadband applications and solutions.”

Verizon continues to expand its 5G Home broadband internet service

Verizon 5G Home, if you don’t already know, is the company’s home internet (broadband service) that offers super-fast connectivity with no data caps. The carrier promises download speeds up to 1 Gbps, with typical download speeds of 300 Mbps. Typical upload speeds are said to be around 50 Mbps. The service costs $50 a month for Verizon customers with a qualifying mobile plan ($30 a month or more). For customers without a qualifying mobile plan, it costs $70 per month. The prices include all applicable taxes and also cover equipment costs. There’s no annual contract either. Launched in September 2018, Verizon has been gradually expanding the availability of its 5G Home broadband internet service across the country. The latest expansion brings it to more customers. To make it all sweeter, the company is currently running a promo offer that gives you a free Stream TV device and a Samsung Chromebook 4 (11.6-inch, 4GB RAM) if you switch to its 5G Home service. It’s a limited-time offer, so you might want to hurry up if Verizon 5G Home seems the right fit for your home internet needs. You can find more about Verizon 5G Home here.

Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband is now available in more cities as well

Along with launching its 5G Home service in several new cities, Verizon is also expanding the availability of its 5G Ultra Wideband. It’s the company’s name for its mmWave 5G network that offers crazy-fast speeds. Just that coverage is spotty as these waves find it hard to penetrate through obstacles such as walls. So it mostly works outdoors. Nonetheless, if you’re a Verizon customer and own a compatible 5G device, you can take advantage of its 5G Ultra Wideband in Austin, Gresham, and Birmingham as well. You can expect the company to bring it to more cities in the coming months. Hopefully, coverage will also improve down the line.
